Hello

And welcome to the May/June issue of Supernova. This is our 4th issue, and I must tell you, I like writing to you. When we started, I was a little worried that I would have nothing to say. So far, this has not been a problem. I seem to enjoy expressing myself. So I invite you to join me, and read on...

The Light Shines All On Its Own

We must continually be reminded that our solutions lie inside of us. More specifically, they lie inside our bodies. Our truths do not come out of our heads. They come out of the cells of our bodies. Were we to allow it, we would glow with radiant health. Because that is the natural state of our cells.

A customer said to me recently (concerned about New Age aficionados attributing “power” to stones) “Power only comes from God.” She had her children with her, and the group was on their way out the door. I would have enjoyed talking with her more, because I do not disagree with her. I do, however, feel that God fills all of creation – indeed, what else could creation be? – and that stones and trees and people are all filled with light. And I believe that Science today would pretty much agree. In India (I think it’s in India), the greeting “Namaste” means “The spirit of God in me greets the spirit of God in you”. It’s all the same.

The big deal is in getting out of the way and allowing that light to shine. It is in us. We are made of it. It is the magic that is Life. But it does not think in English (or French or Chinese or ancient Arabic) – or in any language at all. It is not Logical (although it may be mathematical!). Getting out of the way is probably the biggest challenge we face as individual human beings. Do you recall the book “The Crack in the Cosmic Egg”? We are all “Cosmic Eggs”, with shells around us that seem to define who we are. The shells keep the light inside. What good is that? Well, it’s good for the length of time it takes to incubate the egg.

The New Age is about a time of transformation. It is about hatching the egg. It is about letting your light shine. It is about letting God come through.

This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine...

Namaste.

May Day

Three Happy Women May Day was just plain fun. We even had a Maypole. It was taller than our building and had streamers waving in the air. Ah, but we could not dance around our Maypole – no room. We do have an idea or two for next year. I mean, what’s a Maypole if you can’t dance around it? Our neighbors think that would be fun for the kids. Well yes – of course. But not just the kids! This big kid wants to dance around a Maypole with a lot of other big kids. (I never have, you know).

Would you like to have a look at some of our May Day pictures in Rockport Through the Seasons? See the picture of we three beautiful women standing in front of that colorful Maypole? That’s Terry, the Stone Lady, on the left with the big smile and streamers flowing from her headdress. In the middle is yours truly, clearly having a grand ole time. And on the right is Mishanagqus, who was the inspiration behind our spring celebration this year at Dark Star Philosophia. Another picture shows Terry with her tray of stones, and one of Mishanagqus (Misha) and Terry shooting the breeze. There’s also a shot of me inside Philosophia. And, of course, one of the Maypole.

Last but not least is a picture of Laura Stokes, wedged in between Terry and Misha by the Maypole. Laura is our neighbor, who prompted us to take a group picture, and then took it for us. (Laura is a professional photographer, and I’d like to give her a plug. She is one of the best.)

Our New Bookcase

Thanks to Jamie Maloney of Stonehenge Construction for our new bookcase! We are very pleased! It took him a while to figure out just exactly the right way to build it. The old nautical glass is just the perfect touch. Check it out: New Bookcase. Oh, by the way, Jamie’s son Tyson helped him out more than just a little in building this bookcase. Thanks Tyson.

Rock Your World

The Stone Lady has a very interesting column for us this month. She chose to write about Labradorite. When she sent me a very brief description of the Rough Labradorite, her description left me wondering – because clearly there was more to the story – and I wrote her back asking for more. And more was just exactly what I got! Terry slept with the stone under her pillow. The results were unexpected, and delightful. You may read about it in her column: Labradorite.

All Those Credit Card Applications
(and other stuff)

A friend of ours got inspired. One day she got 5 (count them: 5) credit card applications in the mail. She said “That’s it.” She took all the postage-paid return envelopes, sealed ‘em up with nothing inside, and wrote “Please ReCycle” on them. Then she dropped them all in the mail. Gotta tell ya, I’ve been doing the same thing all week. Boy is it fun.

Jami Lin's Feng Shui Energy Forecast

You may have noticed that Jami never changed her forecast last month – there never was a forecast for May. She was in the process of re-vamping her website. But she is back up to speed this month, and you will want to check out her suggestions for June. (Note for those with front doors facing east: Jami indicates that water is the element for you this month, as well as a morning meditation.) Feng Shui Energy Forecast for June.

Rockport Through the Seasons

Rockport Through the Seasons This has been a cold and foggy spring. Having spent my childhood summers on an island off the coast of Maine, I like this weather. (I’m still grateful to be out of the deep freeze of this past winter!) Tuna Wharf was actually rather mystical one foggy evening in early May. But not all of May was gray – we have had some bright, sunny days too. Happily, May Day was one of those. We have a few pictures for you – hope you enjoy them: Rockport Through the Seasons.
