Merry Yuletide
Christmas is Sunday, Hannukah and Kwanzaa begin Monday, and you will be getting this newsletter right around the time of the Winter Solstice. All followed by the New Year and the 12 Days of Christmas. Quite a holiday season.
The Winter Solstice is also the first day of Capricorn, an earth sign. Of all the signs of the zodiac, the earth signs get the least good press. I guess they seem too mundane. But the symbol for Capricorn is a goat high on a mountain. And the true significance of this first sign of winter is the infusion of spirit into the material plane. This is truly a holy time.
Shopping Cart – there’s still time to order
And so, in true American spirit, let’s switch the emphasis from the sacredness of this winter holiday time to shopping: Dark Star Philosophia has added a shopping cart to our website. And there is an option for express delivery. So you still have time to order! (Of course, we are always happy to take your order over the phone. It’s a good old fashioned system that works well, and it has a personal touch that we enjoy. Either way, your credit card information is secure).
We think that there is nothing wrong with a bit of gift giving at holiday time.
Just remember it is not the most important part.

Dark*Starry*Night with The Stone Lady & The Gentle Miner
The News Goes Public: Discovery of a New Crystal Ally

Two extraordinary individuals who know and work with crystals in different ways joined together to offer a unique presentation during their fascinating Dark*Starry*Night on Wednesday, November 9th.

The Stone Lady (you know well from her ongoing column Rock Your World on our website) has worked with crystals and other stones for decades, discovering their secrets through a combination of knowledge and psychic powers. She is well-known for her in-depth stone readings, that identify people’s nature and gifts through their affinity with particular stones.
Bill Adams, sometimes called The Gentle Miner, works half of every year in his wife Marilia’s homeland of Brazil. He begins with a geologist’s understanding of stones and an environmentalist’s respect for Gaia, and has come to understand more deeply the crystals he digs through the careful study of individual pieces during meditation. When he created his company, he called it Earth Echoes Crystals, and through Earth Echoes he brings his discoveries to North America.
Together, these two stone people have made a discovery about certain crystals Bill found at a unique site in Brazil. (See Terry’s column in this issue of the newsletter Rock Your World - Star Seed Crystals ) Last year, Bill brought Terry a group of small quartz crystals that carry an extraordinarily powerful energy. They engender images when held for even a short time. He asked her to use her powers of observation, intuition and psychic receptivity to extract the secret of these small crystals’ remarkable effect upon humans.
In deep meditation, Terry came to understand that the crystals were seeded on this planet at the dawn of creation so that they would be found at a time of great transformation on Earth, assisted by the higher consciousness of many living things. The crystals’ power arises from the time when stars were first created, and they lend humans strength during this time of the Earth’s transformation. Because of Terry’s vision of them being seeded on Earth during the formation of the stars, these crystals are called Star Seed Crystals.
Each participant at the Dark*Starry*Night received a moonstone for grounding and a Star Seed Crystal. Participants were surprised at the visions they received quickly, and confirmed the stones’ amazing power. Terry explained what she had experienced and envisioned when she first studied the Star Seeds, and then led a guided meditation for all the participants with their crystals.
Bill followed with an explanation of his discovery of the cache of crystals. He showed a series of slides of the region of Brazil where he works, and the spot where he carefully dug each of these crystals by hand.
Bill also had pictures of an existing Lemurian crystal mine that brings up the larger Lemurians. It is privately operated by a local family, with great respect for the crystals and the earth.
Following the presentation, the group was invited to see many crystals, especially the Star Seed Crystals, but also Lemurian Seed Crystals, Fantasy Landscape Quartz, and several remarkably clear quartz points that Bill had brought from Brazil. Most participants selected individual crystals that spoke to them. Dark Star Philosophia, together with Bill’s company, Earth Echoes Crystals, was able to offer these crystals at a substantial price reduction. Terry was on hand to help participants feel confident in their choices. This was a wonderful way of putting the newly discovered and powerful Star Seed Crystals into the hands of people who are drawn to crystals and feel their healing power (as evidenced by their attendance at this particular Dark*Starry*Night).

And just a little note from gera: I was recently granted level one Reiki, and soon afterward sat in a wonderful meditation with the new Star Seed Crystals (be sure to read The Stone Lady's column, Rock Your World ) I find it a great gift to see the world with the clarity of common ordinary simple truth. For a short time, both the Reiki energy and the Star Seed Crystals offered me that gift.
Rock Your World
In this issue of Rock Your World, The Stone Lady has written about Star Seed Crystals. This is the most important discovery of my lifetime in the world of crystals. These tiny little quartz points carry within them the love and energy of the Universe:

Dark*Starry*Night with Mary & Joe Shallbetter
Nothing delights me more than an evening with Mary and Joe Shallbetter. This is a second appearance here at Dark Star Philosophia for Mary and Joe. And, as always happens, the right people came to the right place at the right time.
Mary is a true delight. She is at once profound and entertaining. Each time I listen to her, I am more impressed with the depth of her understanding – not only of mythology, but of the true nature of things. Ah, but that’s redundant, isn’t it? Mythology is all about the true nature of things, after all.
Mary came dressed in a beautiful Goddess Gown – green for the season
(click on the image to enlarge). And proceeded to tell her stories with animation and pure delight. We heard tales of faeries and of silkes. Some were legend, and one was a true story from Mary’s own experience: a story of a faerie ring that will live forever in my memory. Truth is stranger than fiction.
And, of course, Joe told a couple of fish tales. Joe’s fish tales are a highlight for me. Quite different from the Lore and Legend of Faeries! Again, one true tale, and one legend.
Mary, of course, is the creator of our very popular
Fairy Houses. She came with special houses prepared just for her Dark*Starry*Night. Little houses the size of Christmas ornaments. And Gift Packages each containing a Fairy House and 2 scrolls – one scroll describing the significance of the materials used in creating the Fairy Houses themselves, and another telling of the symbology of fairies. (These are still available by special request. Ornaments are $15.00, and Gift Packages are $30.00)
We hope to bring Mary and Joe back again next year. But these 2 travelling storytellers have recently found a permanent home in Kentucky, and I am not sure we will be able to lure them away once they have settled in. If they come, do not miss them!

A Tribute to Bill Montague
Our website has been growing and changing quite a bit over the past couple of years. When we first began, I had a mentor – Bill Montague of The Montague Gallery (then The Concord Mousetrap), in Concord, Massachusetts. He introduced me to Anna, our most invaluable webmistress. He taught me all kinds of little "tricks of the trade", and he taught me how to take pictures (no small feat).
darkstaronline.com,
Supernova,
Rock Your World,
and Rockport Through the Seasons
have been ongoing delights.
We want to thank him again. So be sure to visit his websites: concordmousetrap.com and montaguegallery.com. Oh yes, and read his book:
Little Mouse: The Mouse Who Lived with Henry David Thoreau on Walden Pond. It’s a delight!
