Bloodstone
Bloodstone, also known as Heliotrope, has large amounts of chlorite, which give it its bright, dark green color. Bloodstone has the appearance of being dotted with bright red spots, because of the iron inclusions.

Warriors in ancient times carried Bloodstone into battle with them, as they believed that Bloodstone could stop hemorrhaging and instill courage in dangerous situations. Bloodstone was called ‘the martyr’s stone’ during medieval times, because of the belief that it formed when drops of Christ’s blood fell and stained some jasper at the foot of the cross. In India, Bloodstone is still used as a medicine and aphrodisiac.

Bloodstone is a stone that represents the earth and her vulnerability. Those who are drawn to Bloodstone usually feel a close affinity to the earth and nature. People who are drawn to Bloodstones are extremely creative. They may be coming out of confusing or anxiety producing situations, or be in the midst of many changes. Bloodstones were thought to have the power to make a person invisible. I have noticed that the people who are drawn to Bloodstone are ready to stop hiding in the background and are ready, willing, and able to have attention focused on them in a positive manner. "Bloodstone People" are idealistic and have the courage to face their fears. They are committed to changing some of their past behavior patterns and gaining new perspectives and outlooks on life.

I often suggest that people who are drawn to Bloodstone may want to check with their physicians to verify they have the correct amount of iron in their systems.
Bloodstone is credited with the ability to attract money and abundance, and to revitalize important relationships.
