Fantasy Quartz
Fantasy Landscape Quartz:
This magnificent collector’s piece of “Fantasy Landscape Quartz” is a crystal you won’t see everyday! It is easy to appreciate how in ancient Greece it was once believed that crystals were pieces of ice that had become frozen beyond the point of ever being able to thaw. Several sections of this landscape quartz give the shiny appearance of ice, as it might appear when covering a rocky ledge at the side of the road. Rather than the chill of ice, one feels great heat, compassion, and brilliance from this crystal.
This Fantasy Landscape Quartz was unearthed from a 14 foot sandy soil pit in the earth in Paulista, Brazil. A local woman pointed out the spot for the miners to dig, directing them to, “Just go dig where the light comes out of the ground.” It is easy to envision this crystal as having been so powerful, so dazzling that some people would physically as well as psychically see an actual light coming out of the ground.
As I held the stone, I was struck by its compelling strength, joyful personality, and focused, pulsating power. It was as if it was filled with determination and purpose. There is a strong sense that this is no ordinary crystal! This quartz and the one who will ultimately be bonding with this quartz, share a mission and purpose, as if ordained by a true “ground control,” Mother Earth.
The base of this fantasy landscape quartz was a mixture of clay, quartz, calcite, and hematite. That combination speaks to me of a great teacher, with wisdom far beyond its years. It is an accepting, non-judgmental being. I would expect this crystal to attract a “down-to-earth” human who would be considered an old soul, with a keen ability to communicate, a lot of good old fashioned common sense, and a heart-felt desire to help correct many of the wrongs of the world.
In addition to the intensity and the strength of this crystal, (and the corresponding person) those who hold this landscape crystal may be struck by its quiet essence and awe-inspiring beauty. The crystal reminds me of the earth’s benevolence and magic; how fortunate we humans are, but how misguided we can be when we take it all for granted, forgetting that without the earth, we cease to exist. Examining this fantasy quartz from every angle, one senses how multi-dimensional this quartz is, and the numerous layers that have continued to grow on a pre-existing foundation.
Examining the quartz vertically, I am reminded of many faces in stone, such as one might see in the ancient stones of Avebury Circle, in England. Some angles remind me of a bear, and I suspect someone connected with “Bear Medicine” would feel a kinship. Other angles remind me of a puppy, so trusting, and lying on his back so his person will pet his stomach.
There are literally hundreds of crystals, of all shapes and sizes in this landscape quartz. The quartz faces showing triangles remind me of a great student who goes on to become a great teacher. There are square faces that speak of a protector, a formidable foe or a steady supporter. Portions of the crystal appear to be nurturing, and portions appear slightly hollow, as if still waiting for something magical to happen. Certain areas of this crystal look like steps, or more accurately stepping-stones.
Many will be drawn to this stone … the phrase “many are called but few are chosen” comes to mind, for this crystal will pick the appropriate individual. When this connection occurs, it will feel much like a reunion, for both the human and the quartz.
I have come in contact with thousands of stones and crystals over the years. Without hesitation, I can say this stone is unique, and will open up many avenues for the correct individual. I would fully expect that it would become a stepping stone, leading to great things for the proper person.

Twin Fantasy Quartz:
This month at darkstaronline.com, we are featuring two individual fantasy quartz crystals that were once joined together as parallel points, or “twin crystals,” which have no boundaries.
Just as was the case with the incredible fantasy landscape quartz described above, the twin fantasy points were discovered when digging “where the light comes out of the earth” in Brazil.
The Twin Crystals strike me as being similar to a closely bonded human couple, who were seemingly “attached at the hip” as a young couple, but who mutually decide to expand their horizons as individuals, while remaining loving and close enough to offer support and comfort to one another.
Twin crystals are often sought as talisman for couples who wish to focus on their present relationship. One might suppose that when twins (be they twin crystals or twin souls), no longer share the same tight bond, they may place more emphasis on their individual needs, rather than their needs as part of a couple.
There is something strikingly unique about this particular find of fantasy quartz, no doubt related to the care, respect, and reverence used in its unearthing. Both of the twin crystals have warmth, innocence, and personality. There are wonderful prisms with brilliant rainbows, reminding us of hope! On the outer layers of the crystals, one can see etchings of arrows, peaks, and valleys, reminding us that even when headed in the right direction, life has many peaks and valleys. There is the Elestial quality, where the inner terminations speak of comfort and where healing energy is evident.
I am reminded of the old forest fire prevention ads in which Smoky the Bear warned, “Only YOU can prevent forest fires!” The twin fantasy crystals seem to carry a similar forceful message about protecting and preserving tangible and intangible treasures.
As I tuned into them, I sensed that unlike crystals that have been violently or carelessly unearthed and exploited, the fantasy quartz had wished to be found, as if they were prepared to donate themselves and their heightened awareness for the greater good of the planet. There is great mystery in the fantasy quartz!
Since they were found “where the light comes out of the earth,” I would expect the person (or persons) who may be attracted to either (or both) of these crystals to be idealists with a quiet strength and inner beauty, as well as an aspect of being a “reluctant leader.”
I suspect that either of these crystals will be an asset to someone who has tapped into the wisdom of the ages and is seeking direction as to how to actually take the next step.
