Opalized Quartz
In honor of Valentines Day, darkstaronline.com has decided to feature a beautiful, polished heart-shaped stone known as “Opalized Quartz” or “Girasol Quartz.”

The hearts are translucent, and at first glance are similar in appearance to a clear piece of selenite. The Opalized Quartz is not technically related to opal. Rather, it has an "opalescence" that appears much like frosted quartz, with a soft inner glow.
Occassionally this can be seen as just a hint of a pastel, perhaps a rose glow or pale blue glow.
Our present selection of Girasol Quartz Hearts appear to have a slight silvery-glow, much like the qualities we would associate with a moonstone.
People who are drawn to this stone are very psychic, visual, and keyed into their cycles. They always seem to be able to be in the right place at the right time, and have a keen sense of understanding the dualities and polarities, and have been successful at manifesting what they have needed, possibly because they can usually “see” the end result in their mind’s eye.
Our Girasol Quartz Hearts are translucent. Their clarity suggests these hearts would be an appropriate gift to help in the letting go of past hurts, as well as strengthening your resolve to learn to fully forgive yourself!
Although quartz is usually associated with the sun, and the “SOL” in Girasol means “SUN”, the Girasol Quartz Hearts also remind me of the moon, with its soft, receptive energy. While holding the heart, I was reminded of the phrase, “He who distributes the milk of human kindness cannot help but spill a little on himself." -- James Barrie.
